Army Chief’s approval on Dhoni’s request to Join in Paramilitary Regiment Training.
Mahendra Sinh Dhoni, every
indian know this name. A very renowned and professional cricket player of
Indian team, MS Dhoni recently reached out to Indain Army with his request to
train with Territorial army battalion of the parachute regiment.
Army Cheif General Bipin
Rawat recently responded to his request and has approved his training of two
months with the Paramilitary regiment. MS Dhoni was awarded with the title of Honorary
Lieutenent Colonel, and is now going to train with Parachute regiment
battalion. Over the course of his training although some part of it will take
place in Kashmir valley, he will not be the part on any operations.
MS Dhoni had previously
trained with the elite para regiment of Agra force in 2015. In 2015 he was
awarded with the honorary title of Lieutenent Colonel and belonged to 106
infantry battalion of Territorial Army. This was one of the two battalions
which belonged to Army’s Parachute regiment.
As MS Dhoni informed
informed BCCI that he would not be available for two months for selection, he
was not considered fo selection in India’s tour od West Indies which will start
from 3rd of August.
After confirmation from MSK
Prasad that Dhoni was not available for the limited over series he also
mentioned about the plans of selection committee to give more opportunities in
all the three formats to Rishabh Pant.
